
Vintage Aquatic Park Promenade and Fishing Pier, Also Alcatraz Island from Ft. Mason, San Francisco, California, Unused Linen Postcard. This Post Card is in Near Mint Condition with slight discoloration.
The top of the card states, "AQUATIC PARK PROMENADE AND FISHING PIER, ALSO ALCATRAZ ISLAND FROM FT. MASON, SAN FRANCISCO, CALIF.”
It is numbered 4 on the top right of the postcard and 7A-H1372 in the lower right hand side of the card.
The back of the postcard states, "the crescent shaped concrete pier shown here is 1500 ft. long, built at a cost of $400,000.00 In addition to being a delightful promenade and fishing pier, its primary purpose is to create a break water for San Francisco’s new AQUATIC PARK, situated in this wonderfully protected by area, adjacent to Fort Mason. In the center of the Bay to the left is Alcatraz Island Federal Prison.”
On the back bottom left hand side of the card it states, "Pictorial Wonderland ART-Tone Series”. I believe that this postcard dates to 1937. It was published by Stanley A. Piltz Company, San Francisco, Calif. The Stamp Box states, "PLACE ONE CENT STAMP HERE.” This postcard measures approximately 5 1/2 inches by 3 1/2 inches.
